2. General Information
We respect your privacy. Pulse operates strictly 100% offline. The application does not possess internet access permissions (android.permission.INTERNET). No personal data, notification content, or usage statistics are ever transmitted to external servers, third parties, or cloud storage.
3. Data Processing & Storage
All data processed by the application - including your configured LED light colors, app-specific pulse styles, Always-On Display widget preferences, and floating button settings - is stored locally on your device in secure local storage (DataStore/SharedPreferences). Notification package names are processed transiently in memory to trigger the corresponding pulse effect and are never written to persistent storage or logged.
4. Permissions & Usage Purpose
- Notification Access (NotificationListenerService): Used strictly locally to detect when a notification arrives, allowing Pulse to trigger your custom light color. Pulse reads only the sending app's package name to identify which pulse configuration applies. Message contents, titles, sender names, images, and any other private notification data are completely ignored and never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay): Used locally to render the full-screen Always-On Display pulse effect and the floating launch button.
- Ignore Battery Optimizations: Used strictly locally to prevent the Android operating system from prematurely terminating the background notification listener, ensuring the pulse effect triggers reliably and instantly, including while your device is locked.
- Dream Service (Screensaver): Used locally to display the Pulse Always-On Display as a native Android screensaver while your device is charging or docked. No data leaves your device through this feature.
- Biometric / Device Credential Authentication: When enabled by you, used strictly locally through Android's system Biometric framework to require unlocking your device before dismissing the Always-On Display. Pulse never accesses, stores, or has visibility into your fingerprint, face data, PIN, or pattern — authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used strictly locally to display the required persistent foreground service notification, keeping the Pulse background listener active reliably.
5. Data Retention & Erasure
Since all data remains strictly on your device, you can delete all stored app data at any time by clearing the application storage in your Android system settings or by uninstalling the application.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have full rights to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Because we do not collect or store any data externally, you retain full physical control over your data directly on your hardware at all times.
